Here is my latest HF mobile station;
HF Rig: Kenwood Ts-480HX, I love this rig for HF mobile, it has very good receiver and very simple to use, lot less distracting while driving. I also have Yeasu Ft-857, Icom IC-7000 and, Yeasu Ft 900 AT. So far, TS- 480HX and Ft-900 AT are my favorite mobile rigs.
VHF/UHF/APRS Rig: Kenwood TM-D700 with GPS for APRS. Not doing much with it lately.
Antenna: Hi-Q 6/160 with Hi-Q DC controller (To control the antenna tuning movement). I also have couple of Tarheel Screwdriver antennas; they are being used for spare at this time. My experiences with Tarheels antennas are very positive.
Amplifier: SGC 500 SmartCube, it is a very good amp for mobile, it performs great and very easy to work with it, as long as you provide the hefty DC power source to it.
DC Power Source: Second Optima Red top battery with DC booster to supply 16VDC to SGC, connected to Primary battery with Hellroaring battery isolater, and 20 Watt Solar Panel.
Wattmeter: Telepost LP-1000 wattmeter. So far one of the best power wattmeter I have used.
Microphone: Kenwood Microphone with HC4 Heil element
Mobile: Toyota Tundra 2007
